Can't upgrade firmware - keyboard not recognized

I am trying to update the firmware for my 160gb 320 series SSD. I burned the firmware update tool to a cd and booted from it. While in BIOS, my keyboard is recognized. However, once I've booted into the CD, it doesn't recognize any keyboard input. I have tried two different keyboards and all USB ports, including unplugging all other USB devices.

How can I update my firmware?

Are ALL tried keyboards USB atached? If so, than that seems to be the trouble.

If you can, find/try a keyboard with an old fashion connection like a 'PS2' attachment.

Good idea. Unfortunately I don't have any of those lying around =/.
