DG965WH; Does Intel no longer support this board; Audio drivers

    ralatintel

In the download center there are no 965 boards and specifically no DG965WH.  I need audio  dri v ers for what Windows (XP, SP3) says is:

Name SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC
      Manufacturer SigmaTel
      Status OK
      PNP Device ID HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7627&SUBSYS_80862504&REV_1002\4&7142837&0&0201
      Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\sthda.sys (1.0.5790.2, 1.21 MB (1,271,032 bytes), 12/29/2008 8:09 PM)

It is Not OK.  I get the message "Sonic Focus drivers must be loaded for this application to work".  The latest thing I have been able to find is:

      http://www.technologyhead.com/2009/02/microsoft-update-breaks-intel-mbo-audio.html?showComment=1274150847144#c6617922848825766011

      which says:

Luckily (and this is why I try to stick to Intel or Supermicro motherboards) the relevant drivers and documentation are archived efficiently by Intel. I downloaded the new Intel driver sets from:
      http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspxProductID=2374&DwnldID=15520&lang=eng

But the link is dead and there is no DG965WH at the download center.

Is this typical of Intel now?  Products become obsolete after a few years and tough luck if you need to reload drivers?

      Any assistance will be appreciated.

      Thanks, Robert
