    DP67BG - No LAN Drivers for Server 2008 R2?

    mfortune

      Hi,

I have created a new multi-boot Windows 7 & Windows Server 2008 R2 system on a new DP67BG main board. The Win 7 OS for general home use and the Sever 2008 R2 for my MCITP studies.

I am unable to locate a compatible Server 2008 R2 LAN driver for the DP67BG main board.

Does anyone know of a compatible driver, or am I looking at a PCI NIC for my Sever 2008 R2 support?

      Thanks,

Considering the Intel(R) Desktop Board DP67BG is a -desktop- board, we offer no drivers for Server operating systems. We apologize for the inconvenience.

For more information, please refer to the following website:

Have you tried checking with Microsoft ?

Thank you Jose, I did find that information in the DP67BG drivers page.

What I was wondering is if the LAN chip set on the DP67BG is the shared by one of the server motherboards, and the server motherboard LAN driver would be compatible with my desktop DP67BG using a Server 2008 R2 OS.

I understand that your answer can only be to use the supported driver for the DP67BG.

Thank you again for your rapid reply.

                Hi Robert,

Thank you for you answer, this type of driver is supplied by the manufacturer, in this case Intel. I tried a generic LAN driver and the 3 Intel drivers that are presented in the Microsoft drivers page that are included with Server 2008 R2, no luck.

I was just wondering if someone out in the community has found a compatible driver for one of the Intel server motherboard LAN chip sets that could be installed on with my "consumer/desktop" motherboard.

I am probably just going to pick up a PCI-E NIC, or if I use VM Ware Workstation to create the Server 2008 R2 environment it will be a moot point. I wanted to use Server 2008 R2 with the HyperV role and build my images from with in HyperV.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my query, I really appreciate it.

                Thanks,

Recently i have installed Windows 2012 Server on my machine. I have same board as DP67BG.

I found there is no any driver available for the Windows Server 2012. So i have chat with the support team. Where i got an answer that This board is not the server board so Intel does not having drivers for the same.

After googling i found nice article written by Ivo Beerens. And this trick is work for me. Thanks Ivo Beerens.

Intel Support team is not able to do it but this guy did the awesome job. Thanks again.

Below is the link. Just follow the instruction. This is worked for me....

Enable the Intel 82579V NIC in Windows Server 2012 | IVOBEERENS.NLIVOBEERENS.NL

After installing Windows Server 2012 on my homebrew server, the onboard Intel 82579V Gigabit NIC on the Asus P9X79 motherboard was not working. On the Asus site I found Windows 8 Intel drivers for the motherboard. After installing the drivers the NIC was still not working. To get the  Intel 82579V NIC working in Windows Server 2012, I used the this forum thread as reference for this blog post.

                  Here are the steps:

                  • To be able to modify the drivers you need to run the the following commands:

                  bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

                  bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON

                  • Reboot
                  • Download the Intel drivers. In my case I used the Intel drivers Asus has available for the Asus P9X79 motherboard
                  • Save them to a map and extract them if needed
                  • Open the folder PRO1000
                  • Open the folder Winx64
                  • Open the folder NDIS63
                  • Open the e1c63x64.inf file, I used Notepad++  to edit the file
                  • In the [ControlFlags] section delete the 3 lines (1)
                  • Select and copy the five %E1503 lines (2)
                  • Paste the 5 lines in the [Intel.NTamd64.6.2] section below the %1502NC lines

                  image

                  • After the modifications the e1c63x64.inf file must look like this:

                  image

                  • Save the file
                  • Install the Intel drivers

                  image

                  • After the installation the Intel 82579V Gigabit NIC is recognized and enabled

                  image

                  • Enable the driver integrity checks and disable test signing again by using the following commands:

                  bcdedit -set loadoptions ENABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS

                  bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING OFF

                  • Reboot

Now you can use the Intel 82579V Gigabit NIC  in Windows Server 2012.
