    i7-990x Thermal Throttling

      Hello all,

I only joined this forum recently and this is my first question. A few days ago I finished uprgrading my system with the i7-990x and a DX58OG motherboard running on Win7.  All went quite well except one issue issue which is thermal throttling. Using Intel’s Extreme Tuning Utility to conduct the CPU stress test results in a failure due to thermal throttling within few minutes. This already happens with the factory presets without any overclocking. Altering the fan speed setting so that it reaches the maximum earlier did not help. What put me especially at odds is the fact that throttling kicked in already at 65° C core temperature, way below what I’d consider critical. I have confirmed the temperature with real temp which shows the same temperature range for all cores. Maybe someone can give me some advise here?

      Thanks,

      JK
