Upgrade I7 860 2.8ghz

Hi

I want to upgrade the processor of my pc dell studio xps 8100 I7 860, but I am not sure which one could be compatible with the new ones of better performance.

I am looking for the I7-2600 3.4ghz but before buying need to confirm if this is going to work.

This information is provided by the system manufacturer, they should be able to give a full list of compatible processors with your DELL* system. There are some aspects we could check like socket type and power composition, in this case the i7-860 is a 1156 socket type and 95W power consumption, but there are other details to check with the system manufacturer to prevent any incompatibility.
