    Upgrading from a PATA-only board to a SATA-only board

    guy@mpd.co.za

I am trying to move a Windows XP installation from a non-Intel PATA motherboard to a DG41AN (SATA-only) motherboard. I have cloned the PATA drive to an SATA drive via a PATA/SATA interface convertor plus EASEUS Partition Manager. The problem is the SATA drive will not boot in the DG41AN because there is no SATA driver support on the installed OS, and I cannot get the DG41AN chipset drivers loaded because the drive will not boot and the old board is not an Intel chipset board.

      Any suggestions?
