Intel SSD X25-M G2 80GB: 13 Bad Sectors - a problem?

Dear Intel Community:

I ran SMART Utility over my Intel SSD drive yesterday and noticed that 13 bad sectors appeared. Here are the screen shots:

Since this is the only drive in the system (MacOS 10.6.8), I am worried about disk failure. The serial number is visible in image 1.

Thanks a lot,

Magnus

Backup your data and do a secure erase https://ata.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/ATA_Secure_Erase https://ata.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/ATA_Secure_Erase

or just use http://partedmagic.com/ http://partedmagic.com/

The sleep backdoor described in wiki article is functional with parted magic also.

Regularly backing up your data is always good practice. In the overall big picture 13 sectors is not alot as you can see the available reserve space is still sitting at 99%. Your SMART data looks fine. I don't think you have a problem.
