SWTOR - Graphics card question

Bioware support was unable to help me with this issue and they recommended that I seek the manufacturer of my graphics card for assistance.

I currently have a Dell Latitude E6410 Notebook, with 4GB of RAM and a Intel Core i5 processor

My graphics card is the Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator HD (Core i5)

The graphics card requirements for the game are:

  • Intel 4100 Integrated Graphics or better
  • as well as support for Shader 3.0 or better.

I was wondering....does my video card meet those requirements?

Actually, yes, your integrated graphics controller is higher than an Intel 4 series chipset and supports Shader model 4.0

Check information about your graphics controller here:

http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/quick-reference-guide-to-intel-integrated-graphics/ http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/quick-reference-guide-to-intel-integrated-graphics/

See a list of compatible games for your graphics controller:

Thanks

Allan.

I was also wondering if my computer would be able to run Star Wars: The Old Republic.

I have an Intel G45/G43 Chip set.

Is this good enough?

While it says it has enough memory, it is not dedicated. Do not buy this game if you have a Intel GMA HD graphics card. You will not be able to play. While your card may "say" it has a gig of ram, it is not dedicated. This game takes 256mb dedicated to SWTOR, with this chip you will be lucky to break 100. Intel also was smart enough to create a system where you cannot alter the DVMT and minimum reqirments. So if you have a computer with this graphics card even though you most likley bought your comuter within the last year or so, you cannot play this game even on low settings.

Depends on your Bios. If you have luck you might be able to increase the dedicated RAM for the iGPU.

That won't be a problem if the game do the right thing by actually detecting the total shared memory, not dedicated memory. The perfect example would be the PES 2012 patch update version 1.3 that addresses this problem.
