    Intel G41 Chipset & PCIe 2.0 x16

According to the Intel G41 chipset specifications page:

      http://www.intel.com/Products/Desktop/Chipsets/G41/G41-overview.htm

The chipset only supports PCIe 1.1 x16. However, there are several motherboards that apparently support PCIe 2.0 x16 and have the G41 chipset.

For example, the Intel Desktop Board DG41BI:

      http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/motherboards/DG41BI/DG41BI-overview.htm

The specifications above list PCIe 2.0 x16 as the slot's version.

How is this possible? Does the G41 chipset actually support PCIe 2.0 x16? Or does the DG41BI board only support PCIe 1.1 x16?

There is a lot of contraversoy on this topic (G41 supportting PCIe 2.0 x16) and I need a clear answer.
