How Intel Rapid Storage Technology to identify “System Drive”?

    ivannginjs

I installed Intel Rapid Storage Technology v10.1.0.1008 to manage ICH8R in Windows Embedded Standard 7,

it cannot identify my OS HDD as a "System Drive" and it allows me to mark as spare.

It is a serious problem that when I mark it as a hot spare wrong to rebuild the RAID, my OS cannot boot up again.

I tested to install Win 7 Pro on the same device, RST can identify the system HDD.

How Intel Rapid Storage Technology to identify “System Drive”?

How can I disable the "mark as spare" the OS HDD in RST?

Has anyone else been able to solve this?

I too am having the same issue.

          Thank you!

EDIT: I was able to solve this issue by disabling my RAID1 array by disabling both SATA ports from the BIOS, booting up with just my bootable volume (which is an SSD), which then forced the Intel RST appication to re-verify the disk to be a system disk, then rebooted and re-enabled my SATA ports, thereby re-enabling my RAID1 array.

          Hope this helps!
