I just purchaced an I7 2600k processor and an ASRock Z68 Extreme4 motherboard with 8GB of Corsair Vengeance memory.
After installing Windows 7 64-bit, installing the Intel HD Graphics driver causes the machine to blue screen upon reboot. I've got a monitor connected to it via DSub. Other than the processor and memory, the only other device connected to the machine is the hard drive.
Just wondering if I've possibly gotten a defective Mobo or processor. I suppose it COULD be memory, but I'd expect to see flakiness before the driver is installed as well as after.
Thanks in advance for any ideas!

It's this problem: http://communities.intel.com/thread/20439?tstart=0 http://communities.intel.com/thread/20439?tstart=0
For now you can try either the old driver 2219 or test driver 2401 which could solve the BSOD. Btw, what vbios verison is coming with this board?

As I read through the thread you linked I realized the the problem probably wasn't hardware related (well, not a defective piece of hardware anyway) and I decided to do what I'm imagining most people that have these intel graphics solutions... I nstalled my dual Radeo HD 6780's... problem solved.
No sense in wasting time on something I'm not even going to use anyway.
