    Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1230 (2nd gen. core i7)

Hello everyone. I'd like to ask a question about  Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1230.

So we all know that in Core i5\i7 2nd generations appeared letter "K" after model name.

This letter K mean that  processor can be overclocked with  multiplier pretty hard. And the core of it is unlocked.

So me question is the following.

Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1230 is overclockable ? Does it have unlocked multiplier ?

Defauld frequency is   100mhz * 32x multiplier. +x2-x3 for Turbo.... and change fsb from 100 to 110, 115.

      And that is all ? Can i set a  50x multiplier ? or atleas 45 ? 47 ?

This is  product info about E3-1230.    http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=52271. So , no information about my question are there.

Thnak you very much. I'm waitiong for the information

You are now chatting with 'Victor'

Victor: Hello. Thank you for using the Intel Customer Chat Support service. We are glad to be of service. How may I help you?

Yevgeniy: Helli Victor. Did you read my question ?

Yevgeniy: i set it before started chat with you

          Victor: Please hold\

          Yevgeniy: thnak you

Victor: The Intel(R) Xeon(R) processors have locked multiplier unless they are extreme edition processors.

Yevgeniy: so why you partner Allan told me that they are unlocked ?

Yevgeniy: He doesn't have specific information ?

Victor: I'm sorry, is there anything else I can assist you with?

Yevgeniy: and by the way. How do i know if they are Extreme ? Thay have TDP -130 W ?

Yevgeniy: how do i know if CPU is extreme ?

Victor: With the information provided by the ark.intel.com web site.

          Yevgeniy: http://ark.intel.com/Default.aspx

Yevgeniy:  on this web page only Core i7 990 series are extreme

          Yevgeniy:  no Xeon extreme

Victor: There are no extreme Intel(R) Xeon(R) processors.

Yevgeniy: So. even here http://ark.intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?familyId=594 i see a lot of Xeons. and which of them are extreme ? With 130 W TDP ?

Yevgeniy: So all your Xeonprocessors for 2nd generation of Core i5, Core i7 have no Xeons with unlocked multiplier ?

          Victor: No.

Yevgeniy:  Ok.... i understand that i'm annoing..... but last question....

Yevgeniy:  Does intel has Xeon on Core i7, Core i5 with unlocked multiplier ?

Victor: There are no Intel(R) Xeon(R) processors that are Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 Processor or  Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 Processor. They are different processor families with different features.

Yevgeniy: thank you very much. sorry for stealing your time

          Yevgeniy: have a nice day.
