Since I am interessed in virtualization and planing to experiment with vt-d I've selected to work with the desktop main board DQ67OW. When I click the link to check compatible processors I found that i5-2500 and i5-2500k but not i5-2500k is compatible. I would like to use the T-processor to save energy and keep down the heat. Can some one pleas explain why this processor won't work? Maybe it will work but loose som functionality. I would like to know before I order a new processor. Beat regards Joakim Svensson / Sweden
You can compare proc. features here:
and see that the K model doesnt support VT-d (I/O virtualization).
However all support VT-X.
You have also to check for the motherboards which support VT-d if you need,, I know DQ67SW.
There is a list of motherboards which support VT-d.
DQ67OW is in the list.
