E7 is the "Waiting for User Input" code. I don't know what it wants, but that why it's stopping there. It need some kind of input.
Are you suggesting I replace my keyboard and mouse?
Other machines with different Intel system boards do not require this supplementary input.
I really don't know why it's doing it. I just looked up the E7 code and that's what it said.
As an FYI, I did try switching out the keyboard and mouse.
Still pauses at E7 without hitting F10, and never gets past this.
As a second followup, I was on the Intel chat.
A bad CD-ROM can also cause a halt at E7, but that was not the problem that I had.
We also tried a BIOS recovery, but that didn't work either.
We have the same problem, but only on DX58SO systems using dual video. If you unplug the monitor cables during POST, the problem goes away.
The problem does not occur on the single monitor systems.
