If i7-860 was embedded why is it not in production?

Ok, the spec sheet on i7-860 said versions were embedded. I cannot finded i7-860 for sale. I thought the "embedded" meant support /production for 7 years? what am I missing?

That was a inadequate reply. It is Intel that makes these processors and not the distributors. So why cannot Intel reply that thier corporation has decided to quit producing most if not all of i7 series processors despite clearly stating they would be available (I and most others) at a resonalble to the users cost.

So it seems we all must proceed to the Sandy Bridge which requires us to purchase a chip containing Video processor which most if not all game players would rather not have on the Processor itself as it adds HEAT. Put something of real value and leave the GPU on a separate chip.

I confirm embedded units are placed in production based on market needs. I do thank you for your feedback.

Last time I looked i7-860 cost about the same as a i7-870 so why not get that?
