Is it the MB or CPU? or WHAT???

Greetings,

It's a long story, but I'll try to keep it short.

Bought computer build kit, worked fine for 8 months then out of nowhere, black screen, it would boot up to "starting windows" screen, and freeze there.

Replaced MB, same problem, tried booting from windows 7 disk, tried all combos of memory, (tested memory, it tested OK,) tried to boot from UBUNTU disk, got nowhere. I can get into BIOS.

MB people tell me it must be CPU.

It's been several months now,...getting desperate, need home computer to make a living with.

here are specs,

Intel i7-920

MB XFX MD-X58i CH09

Graphic card ECS GTX 275

Corsair TR3X6G1333C9 G 12 gigs

Can anyone help, my next thought is to purchse another MB, but I'll be waisting $$$ if its the CPU.

Since you replaced the motherboard, it seems to be the processor.

I would suggest contacting our local customer server center so they can assist you.

when you call them, please have the processor handy since they will ask you for the processor specs as showing here:

Also have the motherboards model number where the processor was tested.

I want to do one more test tonight if I can, trying to start it outside the case, on a piece of cardboard or something, just to check if there is a short somewhere inside.

If it does not work, I will make the call to Intel support.

Thank you
