Display problems with Sony Vaio laptop after moving to Windows 7

Moved to WIndows 7 recently, have most recent update on display driver. Using 32 bit display the screen develops a series of horizontal lines that distort the display so that I cannot read text or view images. Switching to 16 bit display resolves that problem, however some applications do not display 3D images correctly in this mode. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there!

Intel offers generic drivers that may help on your issue

Click below to download the latest graphics drivers

If the problem is not solved, I recommend contacting your computer manufacturer to get customized drivers for your computer model.

Thanks

Allan.

Thanks for your response Allan. Previously tried generic drivers from Intel, no change in the problem. Sony don't have dedicated drivers for Windows 7 which is disappointing. Our company will not buy Sony again given the problems with migrating to Windows 7 and the lack of interest on their part.

Hi All I can see in display adaptors is "Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family". Is this the same as yours?

Regards

Paul
