Hi i have a intel quaid Q8400 processor in my pc and would like to find out if i can change it to an i7 extream? if so what would i need to do and i would i go about changing processors?

Intel Core i7 processors are based on a different socket type than the Intel® Core™ 2 Quad processors, so the i7 will not fit on a socket for a Q8400.
In other words, you need a new motherboard in order to install an Intel Core i7 processor.

thank you very much since i read your reply i had another look intel do a i7 quad duo processor and was wondering the same thing? but if not i will get another mother board and i7 processor of my choice and fit it.
