      Intel SSDSA2MH160G201 / Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 / WIN7 ULT x64

The Intel X25-M Mainstream Solid State Drive - 34nm Product Line - Solid state drive - 160 GB - internal - 2.5" - SATA-300 (SSDSA2MH160G201) was configured and placed into service late April 2010 after being obtained with some difficulty (availability issues) from Tech Data out of their FONTANA, CA warehouse, this is “non-serialized” product.

Said device operated fine until last week DIRECTLY connected to the ICH9R that is part of the Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6 motherboard (enterprise SATA RAID fixed disk drives are handled by an Adaptec RAID controller).

Device still appears in BIOS BOOT, the bootable DVD WIN7 REPAIR OPT DOES NOT see drive [SSD] and/or partition.

Any ideas?  Are there incompatibilities with the iX48 chipset and the general product line that SSDSA2MH160G201 is part of?  As one will note there is a fair amount of SSD / iX48 issues discussed in this community forum.

Is data salvageable, device repairable, or should I just use partner resources to quickly obtain the newer product line, SSDSC2MH120A2K5  / SSDSC2MH250A2K5?

      Thanks,

      Tim
