I have a older sys with the P4 extreme 3.2 because these have a L3 cashe , and Hyperthreading , they run almost as good as a dual core , I'm running mine with 4 GB , and a 1GB AGP graphics card . works great , The extreme P4s were based on the early Xeons. Good CPU ,
You need to open your case and look for the sticker on the motherboard that provides the board's serial number and revision information (called the "AA Number"). Go to your board's web page (here: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/dsktpboards/d865gbf) for information regarding how/where you can locate this sticker and understand this information. The Technical Product Specification for the baord is a good place to start. Once you have your "AA Number", you can go the (referenced) processor list and see which processors with better capabilities and/or faster speeds could be chosen.
