I'm trying to install Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1 on 2 of my DELL Inspirion laptops.
Both contain the INTEL HD Graphics adapter.. GMA 4500MHD , I believe.
driver version I have, which is latest DELL offers is: 8.15.10.2104.
DELL support offered no help at all. They are unaware of any issues even after
I pointed them directly to Microsoft KB article.
Windows update will not let me install SP1 due to an issue with the Intel HD graphics.
It is documented in Microsoft's KB 2498452 article.
Is there an Intel HD updated driver available that will work with SP1?
If yes, where?
Thank you.

Have you checked the download center?
http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/chpsts/4m http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/chpsts/4m
You can run the auto-detect there too.

I had the exact same problem on a Dell Studio 1749. I tried installing the latest drivers from the Intel site but they wont install due to typical Dell mod of the hardware. Then I contacted Dell support and they tried a few stupid things and then gave up. Then I tried to update the driver directly from Device manager and that failed also. As I was creating this message I thought I would try the download from Intel again so that I could document the error messages properly. Woh it worked this time and I can install SP1. The only thing that I know of that was changed that might explain this is that the Dell tech rep updated my ethernet driver. I have no clue why that would change anything
