Be Careful When Plugging and Unplugging the PCIe Cable

Be very careful when plugging and unplugging the PCIe connector to the Rocky Lake board. It has a metal guide that is often loose and may fall off.

If it does fall off, you should still use the guide when plugging in the PCIe cable. You can place the guide over the PCIe connector on the Rocky Lake board and hold it down with your finger as you plug in the PCIe cable.

Be careful as you do this because the connector itself can come loose. Also, during operation when the guide is loose, there is little stress relief for the PCIe cable. When you set up the MCPC/SCC system in your lab, ensure that there is minimal strain on the board’s PCIe connector. Reattaching the connector to the Rocky Lake board is an expensive repair.
