I've had this board for 6 years and have had no trouble with it. When I got this system, it came with this board, a 200GB SATA drive, and 2 IDE ROM drives (CD & DVD burner). I just installed a 1TB drive to the machine. Now when I boot, the system will recognize the two SATA drives, but no longer recognizes the two IDE drives. Windows doesn't see them, nor does the BIOS. I tried disconnecting the newest HD, but that didn't help either. The two IDE drives are getting power, and the ribbon cables are properly attached.
Does anyone have a suggestion or idea as to what might have happened?
You may be using a splitter to supply power for that many peripherals with such an old power supply. Changing the connections could fix or get a new PSU with more connectors. Does Disk Management (not Device Manager) show the drives by any chance? Where is Disk 0 listed for the hard drive?
