    X58SO2 POST

      Greetings, All:

Just finished building a system based around the new X58SO2 motherboard, with an i7-950 chip. Installed Windows 7 x64, and all seems to be working fine. I have an observation/question about the way this board POSTs. When I power the system on, the display remains inactive for about 20 seconds, after which the display turns on and a single non-blinking cursor appears at the top left corner (for another ~20 seconds), followed by a few seconds of a blinking cursor, then the Intel splash screen for a fraction of a second. The system then loads Windows, and all is well. During the apparent "hang" the number 58 is displayed on the board's indicator.

Is this normal behavior for this board during POST? It is unlike any other system I have ever built, and I don't know what to make of it. Any input would be appreciated.

      Thank you!
