My interpretation of the matter is that VT-d only requires a processor and BIOS with support. As the extensions are not chipset-dependent (perhaps they used to be?), they don't show support in the chipset comparison tables. I can understand the confusion given how the information is presented. It's also possible I'm mistaken, in which case hopefully someone will correct me. I too wish it were easier to find clear information on the topic.
Yes, i saw this on webpage, but if P67 chipset doesn't support VT-d how i should understand it ?
Under vmware Passthrough that requires just the VT-d does not work
The point is pre Sandy Bridge you need VT-d support in BIOS Chipset and CPU.
Sandy Bridge only needs VT-d Support in the CPU and BIOS.
BUT right now it is broken in the BIOS of the DP67BG. Intel has a beta BIOS that should fix this
but they only give it to Platinum Partners what makes me real angry because i paid nearly double
to get better support for VT-d in my mind.
