I have noticed various retailers (including OEMs) selling Xeon processors with an OEM part number:
Is this the same as an "Intel" Xeon E5430 (BX80574E5430P, BX80574E5430A, AT80574KJ067N, EU80574KJ067N)?
Or is there some sort of proprietary modification that limits this product to only HP/Compaq machines?
It is hard to tell with this listing. The "PROCESSOR KIT FOR PROLIANT DL360 G5 SERVER" could include something special like a unique fan or heatsink.
As far as the processor is concern, it should be the same. If you can get the s-spec number (SLBBQ), you can look it up at http://ark.intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?series=33905
If the S-spec is the same , the processor is the same. Just the packaging may be different.
Also, warranty on an OEM processor may not be the same as the warranty on a Intel boxed version.
