i need help! whats the difference between the QX6850 and the QX9650?? if their both lga775 then why does my mother board not list it as compatable???

QX9650 has more cache and FSB Parity. Ethier could cause issue with the mother board's BIOS.
You would have to ask Asus if their BIOS will support the Qx9650. (or just giver it a try as see if it works)

I would recommend contacting the motherboard manufacturer for them to provide you a list of fully supported processors for your motherboard, keep in mind that the fact that both processors are based on socket 775 does not mean that the motherboard will support both processors.
These 2 processors are based on different technology (QX6850 = 65 nm, QX9650 = 45 nm (Newer Technology)), so the motherboard might not support one of those.
