If the beep is gone , i am sure that many home users will like it. I know that many were complaining abiut this.
The first beep is for POST. The second beep means it's enumerating and looking for any bootable devices.
Try to check if you can test the sound buzzer. Just to make sure that this device is still working properly.
There are many dos tools which allows you to test it by issuing a beep.
Unfortunately, there is nothing in the bios release notes.
All the best,
I can confirm that teh beeps have gone after updating the BIOS, i tested it last week on a couple of boards and they all do it, so i would assume that Intel have listened to teh home users, as Aryan said, and got rid off them.
I can also confirm that the on-board speaker will no longer register 2 beeps before POST and after POST with BIOS version 0035. However, that is not to say the on-board speaker has been disabled. If you have any errors like video configuration failure or memory problems, the speaker will sound with the appropriate number and length of beeps, and you will be able to diagnose the problem based on the number/length of the beeps.
Hope this eases all of your worries. The beeps were tiresome at times, but it feels weird now that they are gone.
