I hope you have a backup of your data...
First make sure all drives are connected in the right order, meaning each disk is connected to its original port.
Do you still see the RAID 10 VD, or it's totally gone? What's the status of PD2-5?
Yes, I have a backup, but it is not completely up-to-data, hence I hope to recover the array. (I was relying on the RAID too much:-)
The disks are all reconnected corectly and PD2-5 are all OK (READY).
The Raid10 VD has gone completely. Hence the question of whether recreating it will distroy the data.
Try to create the VD using the exact same parameters WITHOUT initializing it. If you initialize the new VD, everything is gone. If you don't initialize it, and the parameters are correct (most important item is Stripe Size), you have a good change to get your data back.
If the new VD is accessible, I'd suggest you perform a consistency check immediately.
If when you create it again the partition maybe deleted but all data is their.
This RAID2RAID software can view arrays without a partition but might not work for your RAID controller.
I am going to run 2008 Standard edition on a S5000PSL motherboard with emmedded raid. I need to know what Driver to use before I set up my OS.
Step 2, If I have the correct driver i found on this site, what Pre OS install steps do I need to take?
Raid 1 is the goal
Thanks for helping, Its working.
