Install RST their is a bug with Matrix Storage Manager 8.9 that can drop drives.
You also have ICH8R or ICH9R not both and you did not have to move disk 1 to where disk 0 was by port is what I think your saying so install RST have the drives in you had before and rebuild it.
I cant try this for a couple of hours but thanks for the reply. I tried just replacing the failed drive but when I did the system did not see the drives and would fail to boot. Thanks again I hope this does the trick.
Ok still having problems. You are right I have the ICH8R controller. I updated the software like you suggested. I moved the drive back to slot1 and it boots fine like that it does not allow me to ctrl i when the system posts to let me access the RAID controller. When I replace the slot0 drive with an equally sized drive it fails to boot. How do I rebuild this mirror?
I put back in the the original failed disk0 and I can access the controller software. It says array RAID1 status degraded.
disk 0 member disk
disk1 non-raid disk
I have optopns of creating a raid volume
deleting raid volume
reset disk to non-raid.
What should I do?
Rebuild is done in windows just let the system boot.
