Hi
I am trying to run XNA 4.0 WP7 Emulator. It needs a WDDM1.1 compliant video driver to work.
I installed today the latest driver for my system from Intel. The version is 7.15.0010.1666. Does it support WDDM1.1?
Is there a WDDM 1.1 compliant driver for Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset for Windows VISTA 32? If yes, can someone provide a link?
My system:
HP Pavilion dv6500 Notebook PC
Windows Vista™ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6002) Service Pack 2
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7300 @ 2.00GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.0GHz
Memory: 2038MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Card name: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
Driver Version: 7.15.0010.1666 (English)
DDI Version: 10
WHQL Logo'd: Yes
Extra info:
Tried to Uninstall / Install everything regarding WPDT, didn't work.
In DirectX Caps Viewer there is an entry for D3D10_FEATURE_LEVEL_10_0
I have Vista SP2 and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971644 KB 971644 installed.
In VS 2010 Express for WP, the WP7 Emulator works for Silverlight, although when I added
"Application.Current.Host.Settings.EnableFrameRateCounter = true;"
it did not display any frame rate counters. I suspect hardware acceleration is not working for some reason???
------Starting Rants-----
Rant 1) Please don't tell me to install Windows 7. If I had the money to do that I wouldn't bother trying to find a solution 2 days now
Rant 2) I've been searching forums all day. Haven't seen a single case where someone with Vista was able to work successfully with XNA
Game Studio and the Windows Phone 7 Emulator (except in CTP). I wonder why Microsoft has Vista as a compatible OS??
Rant 3) I honestly thought of installing the Windows 7 driver for 965 to see if it could work...
------Rants Ended------
