As long as the array is not in rebuilding mode, i dont see any problems. Of course, i would always advise anyone to make sure to have a complete separate verified backup of the data before doing anything.

And drives do die you know a new driver will not fix things unless you updated to a new driver at the time your drive failed since this is not the case here you likely have a drive thats failed and should be replaced.

I have an idle, unpowered spare replacement drive for this purpose.
Where is the log that shows which of the two drives is the suspect drive?
I don't have a screenshot of the original failure message.
