I have tried to install Windows 7 64bit on a GPT HDD from a bootable USB stick. To allow the system partition to be bootable the "UEFI Boot" option has to be activated. This option is available on my DG45FC motherboard (Bios v0131 from July 2010).
But Windows 7 64bit refused to be installed on a partition which uses GPT partition style. I can't understand why.
It seems like the BIOS/UEFI boots the normal BIOS/MBR bootmgr form Windows 7 stored on the USB Stick instead of the bootmgr.efi.
May that explain why the Windows 7 installer refuses GPT partitions?

I read somewhere that Windows 7 installer requires at least EFI v2.xx to boot correctly in EFI mode. Which version of EFI does the v0131 BIOS contain?
How can I access the EFI Shell? Does the DG45FC Bios contain one at all?
Thank you for your help
