hello, guys... pls help ;p)
i just got a 4 GB memory, IBM 4GB 2Rx4 PC2-5300P at 667 Mhz (it-s ECC memory), it was given by a frend.... so, if i have it, i have to use it
and i want to buy Intel® Desktop Board D975XBX
the question is.... it will work ? can i use it ? and, can i put 2 of this memories ? 2 X 4GB ?
Unfortunately, that 4GB fully-buffered ECC memory module is not compatible at all with the 975X chipset. The memory controller limits memory support to 1GB per rank (this means 2GB maximum per slot), and it does not support registered or fully-buffered memory at all. Attempting to use that memory will result in the system's refusal (or failure) to POST.
