    1333 vs 1066

I replaced my heatsink a couple of weeks ago and when I put everything back together my computer wouldn't start.  After hours of troubleshooting I found that if I have any ram in the B slot my computer wouldn't start.  When ram was in that slot it would turn on, turn off after 5 seconds then turn on, but with nothing coming up on the screen.  I talked to Intel and they said that i7 and the Intel DX58 are not compatible with 1333 DDR 3 ram and if I bought 1066 ram then slot b would work.  Have any of you had any experience with this?  Is there any way to underclock my ram from 1333 to 1066 in the Bios?  my ram is the Corsair DDR 3 kind.  Thanks in advance.
