When I enable AHCI in Windows 7 and install the latest chipset drivers, I get a system freeze for about 3000 seconds and then I see a "timeout" notification in the Event Viewer that says "windows error reporting service" has crashed.
I´ve read that the ICH9 controller isn´t AHCI compatibe, but that can´t be true because I´ve managed to run other OS:es than Windows in AHCI mode. This is setup:
Gigabyte P34-DS3
Intel ICH9
latest BIOS
AHCI BIOS 1.2.0E (I think)
Samsung SATA HD753LJ 750gb
tried latest chipset driver
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Erik
