Is it safe to install a 800Mhz Ram stick onto a motherboard which supports upto 667 MHz RAM

    sridhar_naidu

      I have a D945GCNL motherboard. It supports only (upto) 667 Mhz DDR2 RAM 2GB (1.8V only).

I have 2 RAM sticks of 1 GB each.

2 days back, 1 of the RAM sticks had a problem and had to be removed. Now since i am left out with only 1 GB RAM, i wanted to purchase a new RAM of 667 MHz 1 GB. Now i find that 667 Mhz RAM is obselete and the computer spares shops in my area have only 800MHz RAM's.

Is it safe to install a 800Mhz Ram stick onto a motherboard which supports upto 667 MHz RAM ?? Pleas give me a simple answer ... and dont get into much details.
