Why Pentium 4 3.6 GHz doesn't work in my board

Hi everyone,

I need some help with a inssue in a Processor.

I have a D915GUX motherboard, it says it supports 660 processors I just got a Pentium 4 661 SL96H 3.6 GHz but it doesn't work in my board.

any sugestions, why doesn't it work?

Hi,

According to this: http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d915gux/sb/CS-026954.htm

It say the 660 not the 661.

Hi, yes I diod notice that, but 660 is the same specifications than 661. only 661 works at lower voltage.

All i can think of it that teh simply haven't added teh CPU microcode to teh motherboard BIOS....
