I should think it is more a driver issue.
The best way to test this would be to put another OS on it, either vista or even better XP
With regard to a new BIOS, possible, but doubtfall.

The problem seems to have disappeared after installation of new nVidia GeForce drivers (197.xx to 258.xx).
But there is new problem.
Before installing my Core 2 Quad Q8400 on my DG45ID motherboard (see my other topic on DG45ID), I tested this CPU on my DG33TL, with its latest BIOS version.
This DG33TL doesn't recognize fully the Q8400 : on BIOS setup, it displays "Core Genuine - 64 capable". That's all. VT & EIST options dispappear. On Windows, the Q8400 hasn't VT, EIST and SSE4.1. I made a full clear CMOS (removing battery during 30 minutes) but same problem. I think I'm the only person to have this problem because I have seen nothing like it in other topics in Google search ?
Try reflashing teh latest BIOS of the TL again
Too late . As I said previously, the Q8400 is now on my DG45ID, which you are discuting with me on another topic.
I can't remove it without making big changes once again and without reactivating my Windows license. Especially since DG33TL has a C2D E8400 now.
In addition, my Q8400 runs very well into my DG45ID where it's fully functionnal.
I just asked a question about whether the problem was already known and to trace it. That's it.

Ah ok! I doubt it is a specific issue. i have seen it before on various systems, ussually a reflash will sort it out, other times the CPU has been faulty
This is a feed talking about resolution of Yorkfield recognition under DG33TL (in spain language)
In fact, if Google translates spain to english well, Yorkfield must be installed before reflashing BIOS to be fully recognized. LOL : Very amazing way of upgrade
