Hi, for that CPU you would need BIOS 2214. If it is brand new, and you give me the AA number i can check what BIOS version it would have.
You could always just try and update it to see if it resolves the issue. You may be able to do this with the recovery method http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-023360.htm
Do you get three beeps without memory and GPU?
AA D53350-509 and No beep on no memory. (I am assuming the speaker is built into the motherboard)
I am getting conflicting info on P2 and P3 (4 x4) on my motherboard are not used as it is an Extreme cpu and motherboard.
If you are not getting any beeps without memory usually either CPU/MBD/PSU faulty.
In terms of power connection you should have teh ussual 24 pint atx and the 8 pin CPU. you could also try plugging in teh molex although this is for additional power to the add in cards
Cheapest things first, New PSU first. Just want to be sure on the P2P3 setup. As per the product guide D63326-005
Do not use the 2x2 to 2x4 adapter when using an Intel® Pentium® processor Extreme
Edition or a processor that is not running at its default settings. Doing so may result
in damage to the desktop board."
Some of the older QX6000 CPU can use up to 130 watt so if you are going to get aPSU make sure it has eight pin plug for CPU and has the right watts.
Thanks to all, I now have output video, but the machine shuts down, when I start it up. So I still have work todo, but thank you.
Off to search down the next on the list..
All the best
