vega card cannot be recongized with the latest driver 18.10.2

I tried every thing i could to install the latest driver, including update from 18.9.1,delete the old one and clean install the new one, but the same things happened.

In the task manager the vega card is missing(pic4). the radeon setting in the right-click menu is gone. when I manually click the radeon setting in the start menu ,it shows that no radeon graphic card installed or the driver is not function properly(first pic above). the info of the vega card said the signature is not valid(pic2 &3).

the vega card driver is really awful since it cannot recognized the game and switch to discrete card automatically. All I can do is to update to the latest driver and hope it could work better. but now it failed totally.

really disappoint to this bull sh*t product

Hello chwdy,

Thank you for joining this Intel Community.

According to the report attached, you are using AMD/Intel Switchable High-Definition(HD) Graphics. For this reason, we recommend you to use the graphics drivers provided by your system manufacturer first since they may contain customizations. We also supply generic versions of graphics drivers for general purposes and there may be a specific order to install these drivers on mobile platforms.

A. You may follow these steps:

1.Disconnect your unit from the internet.

2.Uninstall both the Intel Graphics driver and the Intel Display audio driver. To do this, please follow the steps on the link below under these sections:

-Uninstalling the Intel Graphics Driver via the Device Manager Method

3.Restart your computer. Go to the device manager and check if Windows installed another version of the graphics driver. If it does, please remove it and restart your computer one more time. Repeat the process until you get the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.

4.Once you do, please proceed with the clean install of the latest graphics drivers for your system.

Hi,

The problem seems can be solved by using the trouble shooting tool in Setting-Update&security.

It was solved while trying to upgrade the computer to 1809, but it stuck while restart. I tried the tool called "hardware and device"(only appear on 1803), then upgrade the windows, then the computer stuck at restart stage. And when it recovered from it, the 18.10.2 driver work normally for no reason.

I searched why the computer was stuck and the Microsoft knowledge base shows it was caused by driver that not compatible for new version. Since the 18.10.2 was the latest version so it cannot be the problem. The trouble shooting tool seems reset some driver or system and make it back to normal.

I reinstall the HP version vega driver which is pretty old but it still stuck when the upgrade still stuck. So the conclusion is the 18.10.2 might missing some works to reset the system and driver's status, and the intel version is compatible with the computer and work fine.

Hello chwdy,

According to the pictures attached, you were receiving a code 52 "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device". In other words, the driver may be unsigned or corrupted. This may happen when installing generic drivers.

Thank you for your feedback.
