Read some of the other posts regarding the same issue. It appears it is related to Microsoft updates as many are having the same problem. Mine is with a Dell Studio running Windows 7, and many others are with the Toshiba.

if you don't know the model of your wireless adapter, try this Automatically install your wireless driver and software
or you can also try this one Identify your wireless adapter and driver version
once you have the wireless card's model and software and drivers are installed, you should be good to go.
if all else fails, you can identify your wireless adapter's model in your laptop by searching for your laptop's specs.
