two server system based on S5520UR don't boot after update.

no video, none mode to access BIOS or regain control.

all (documented) recovery procedures can repair the system.

after many minutes (15-20) the system load EFI (with this system i can BIOS recovery, but without success)

my suspect is a BMC firmware corruption.

there is a method to recovery BMC firmware?

thanks for any help!

    Here: http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s5520ur/sb/CS-030023.htm

you can find the link: http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s5520ur/sb/e44031006_s5520ur_s5520urt_tps_r14.pdf

to get the s5520ur_s5520urt_tps (Technical Product Specifications)

where you can read (among other useful things):

    6. Jumper Blocks.............................................................65

6.1 BIOS Defaults and Password Clear Usage Procedure....66

    6.1.1 Restoring BIOS Defaults ..........................................66

    6.1.2 Clearing the Password .............................................67

6.2 Integrated BMC Force Update Procedure .....................67

    6.3 BIOS Recovery Jumper...............................................68

6.2 Integrated BMC Force Update Procedure

When performing the standard Integrated BMC firmware update procedure,

the update utility places the Integrated BMC into an update mode,

allowing the firmware to load safely onto the flash device.

In the unlikely event that the Integrated BMC firmware update process fails

due to the Integrated BMC not being in the proper update state,

the server board provides a BMC Force Update jumper (J1H2),

which forces the Integrated BMC into the proper update state.

The following procedure should be followed in the event

the standard Integrated BMC firmware update process fails

or if the Integrated BMC becomes corrupted in such a way as to prevent the system from booting.
