AHCI enabled??

My notebook is Envy 15-1100 CTO, and i am wondering if the AHCI mode is enabled.

I can only found the "Intel ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E/5 Series SATA RAID Controller" but no AHCI controller at all.

So that means AHCI mode is not enabled??

Hello,

Install this software:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=17882 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=17882

Post some screenshots for the main page of the software.

However you can also check in the bios whether the sata drive are set as ide/ahci or raid.

All the best,

Kind Regards,

Aryan.

I have install the Rapid Stroage Tech. Utility, and as mine is a notebook, no option in the BIOS...

Any software or command can check whether it is enabled or not?

I have heard that regedit can check, is it??

Hello,

Assuming that you have got only one drive configured on the system, i would say that ahci is enabled on your configuration.

If you have got Intel (R) Matrix Storage Console installed, then there should be a raid or ahci configuration.

As with ide configuration, the above utility wont even installed.

There is a much easier way to check whether the drive connected on the system is in ahci mode or ide.

See screenshot below.

Open Intel (R) Matrix Storage Console

Select View Advanced Mode.

Check if there is any drive attached to the AHCI controller.

All the best,

Kind Regards,

Aryan.

Hello,

I forgot to ask this question.

Have you tried this utility?

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/download.aspx?url=/18498/eng/ChipUtil325.exe&DwnldId=18498&lang=eng

If it identifies your ICH, it may also tell you the configuration of the sata controller.

All the best,

Kind Regards,

Aryan.
