Choosing fastest memory for i7 860 p55 NOT OVERCLOCKED

Hello everyone,

I will be using the Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD7 (Rev 1.0) P55 motherbard and an i7 860 processor. Although this is an "over clockers" mobo, I do NOT intend to over clock. I am trying to build a rock solid machine that will be running 24/7/365. As such I could use some guidance choosing the memory to provide the fastest operation while maintaining maximum stability. Is there a chart somewhere that shows ddr3 memory types and the interactions with the P55 chipset and i7 860's internal timing?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi,

We do have tested memory lists for our desktop boards; see the following URL:

I do not know if Gigabyte has something similar, but you could check with them.

As for the Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-860 Processor and what memory types it supports, and the general specifications of it, please, refer to the following URL:
