Opal status and secure erase.

Hi, i have an Intel SSD Pro 5400s, which is inaccessible at the moment (can't initialize or create partition).

I have tried secure erase, but without success.

Also tried to run psid_revert, but again with no success

How to resolve the issue? Opal status is Unknown, but when i try to erase, opal is activated...

Thanks.

Hi,

I think you might have clean data of the drive first use diskpart via command prompt in Administrator mode.

Example:

C:\Windows\system32>diskpart

Microsoft DiskPart version 10.0.17763.1

Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation.

On computer:

DISKPART> list disk

Disk # Status Size Free Dyn Gpt

-------- ------------- ------- ------- --- --- Disk 0 Online 447 GB 0 B * Disk 1 Online 931 GB 0 B * Disk 2 Online 7452 GB 0 B * Disk 3 Online 7452 GB 0 B *

DISKPART> sel disk 2

clean

regards,

Shawn.

Hi pesho,

Thank you for posting in the Intel® communities. Some time ago, there was a similar issue posted in another thread. It was resolved by using the Intel® SSD Pro Admin Tool, however the user had to boot from WinPE in order to be able to recover the drive. Please try this way as it's described in the following thread and let us know if it worked for you: https://communities.intel.com/message/566808# 566808 https://communities.intel.com/message/566808# 566808Make sure the drive is directly connected to the motherboard. If you have the drive connected through an USB adapter, it won't work.I'll be waiting for your response.Have a nice day.Regards,Diego V.
