    7003 - Roam Complete

    t-sasaki

We are in trouble with the phenomenon that WIFI reconnects.

The following logs are recorded in the Windows event log.

What does the following log mean?

          Hello t-sasaki,

Thank you for joining this Intel Community.

This behavior may be caused by Wi-Fi Roaming Aggressiveness Setting. This setting alters the signal strength threshold at which the WiFi adapter starts scanning for another candidate AP. Find this setting under the advanced adapter settings. The default value is Medium. Depending on the environment, one option may work better than the other. You may try other values to see which works best for your environment. We recommend you to revert back to the default (Medium) if you do not see an improvement with other values.

          • Lowest: The WiFi adapter will trigger roaming scan for another candidate AP when the signal strength with the current AP is very low.
          • Medium-Low
          • Medium: Recommended value.
          • Medium-High
          • Highest: The WiFi adapter will trigger roaming scan for another candidate AP when the signal strength with the current AP is still good.

If these steps do not fix this issue, please run the Intel® System Support Utility and attach the report to this thread.

1.Download the Intel® System Support Utility and save the application to your system.
          https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility-for-Windows-?product=91600
2.Open the application and click Scan to see system and device information. The Intel® System Support Utility defaults to the Summary View on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says summary to change to Detailed View.
3.To save your scan, click Next and click Save. You can save the file to any accessible location on your computer.

To attach a file, you must click “Use Advanced Editor” on the upper right hand corner of the response box, then the “attach” option will appear on the bottom right hand corner of the response box.

            Hello,Wanner G.

            Thank you for my quesution.

Wi-Fi Roaming Aggressiveness Setting is Lowest.

With one SSID, we use both 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz.

On Windows, only one wireless profile is set.

In the priority band setting, 5 Ghz is set under the advanced adapter settings.

And the wireless mode is 802.11a/g under the advanced adapter settings.

Does the message "7003 - Roam Complete" mean switching connections from 5 Ghz to 2.4 Ghz ?

Also we are using meru's access point, all access points are operated with single channel(ch44 only).

            https://www.nox.co.jp/products/forti/controller/index_controller.shtml

When connected to 5 GHz, roaming operation should not be done.

The roaming operation from the access point to the access point is completely controlled by the wireless controller.

                Hello t-sasaki,

                Thank you for your response.

We are doing research about the event log provided above.

In the meantime, you can perform a clean install of the latest wireless driver in case of driver/settings corruption. I noticed that the wireless driver is outdated in the Lenovo™ system.

                  Hello,Wanner G.

                  Thank you for your response.

I have installed the latest drivers and clean install of drivers.

                  However, there is no improvement.

I tried the following version of driver installation.

                  Ver 19.50,20.40.0~20.80.0

                  The wireless mode change 802.11a.

Although the message "7003 - Roam Complete" ceases to appear,

the following event log appears and the driver disconnects the wireless connection.

The phenomenon is occurring only with Intel's wireless adapter.

Do you have a bug in the driver ?

Please tell me about workaround and fundamental solution.
