I have the same problem since yesterday. To be precise the Laptop inbuilt Speakers and Jack port are not working. I can however get audio through the USB port. The Windows troubleshooter tries updating the driver unsuccessfully. On the tray speaker icon it says 'No audio output device is installed'.
Tried using Intel DSA but it got stuck in a reinstall loop. It seems to successfully install the latest driver (18.104.22.16849) then after restarting the computer the installer starts over from scratch, then it repeats the same for an infinite number of cycles. (I got out around five.) I
I have done the following: 1, Updated BIOS (Lenovo Yoga 720), 3, Ran Windows update, 3, Updated Nvidia driver (laptop has a dedicated video card), then tried again Intel DSA. The reinstall loop issue seemed to have stopped but the audio still showed lacking device.
DSA at this point showed my driver to be fully up to date but then then after another restart DSA found the driver missing again...From that it seems to be that something is either reversing the driver update or it is not successful on the first place.
Please advise, thanks!
I have same the issue as well. It has been caused by the installation of the Microsoft Windows 10 Version 1809 CU KB4464330, in my case.
I have a thread on this and this has been responded to by Intel.
