Why are you trying tyo update the BIOS via windows? really not advisable, i would suggest you use the recovery method and the .bio file
Why would I NOT update via Windows? That actually is advised. Intel's description says, It is designed to be used on Windows* systems" and makes a point of stressing ". This method is the most commonly used." The .bio file is inteded for use in case of emergency, for recovery, not as a default. Besides, i don't have a floppy disk drive, and creating a bootable CD, while doable, isn't as easy as all that. I tried.
Anyway, the simplest solution would be for Intel to sign its files.
Hey Intel! Little help here, please. You need to sign your BIOS update executables so people with 64-bit operating systems can use 'em. Please?
