Hi. Can anyone surely state if i7-8750H is patched against Spectre and Meltdown by hardware design or not? (doesn't it require software patches that slow down the system? I can't find it in the list of vulnerable processors but nobody also says that it was fixed.

Thank you for your reply. There is a lot of information but no specific statement what exact processors are not subject to these exploits (if there are any at this moment). I've read that it is only expected in the 9th or 10th generation of Intel CPUs but https://www.anandtech.com/show/12533/intel-spectre-meltdown one article mentioned that some changes were already made in the 8th generation processors made in the second half of this year. However, I don't see any notes of this in CPU specifications. I don't understand why Intel doesn't make this information transparent (if it's not fake). How should I distinguish a CPU with the protection from the same CPU without the protection when I buy a laptop? I can't disassemble it to see if the CPU was made in the second half of 2018! The https://www.techarp.com/guides/complete-meltdown-spectre-cpu-list/7/ list doesn't contain i7-8750H, but I expect that it is because it was not updated with 2018 processors. Can anyone who understands what happens in Intel explain are there any real hardware changes against spectre/meltdown in recently produced processors or they are only planned for future generations? And i7-8750H exactly, if the real situation is unclear, can anyone test it for spectre/meltdown without software patches?

I understand that you are not responsible for the information that other sites can provide as well as for the information on the unreleased products. But https://ark.intel.com/products/134906/Intel-Core-i7-8750H-Processor-9M-Cache-up-to-4_10-GHz?q=Intel%20Core%20i7-8750H i7-8750H was released in Q2 2018 officially. Could you please comment, does it have any hardware protection against these vulnerabilities or not? I just can't find any certain information YES or NO. I see only articles that say "maybe" and "we are working hard" and etc, but it doesn't provide any certainty. I need something like "i7-8750H is protected against Spectre and Meltdown on hardware level" or "i7-8750H is NOT protected against Spectre and Meltdown on hardware level", it is so hard to answer? Or it is kept in secret by top management and you don't know it either?
